Dear Pine Rivers Residents
As Pine Rivers District Red Shield Appeal Chairman I invite you to help make a difference by supporting the Salvation Army Annual Red Shield Appeal Doorknock on 19 and 20 May 2012.
The Pine Rivers District goal for 2012 is $92,500 and just a few hours of your time to help knock on doors in your neighbourhood or local businesses, can help us reach this target.
The Red Shield Appeal Doorknock has been the Salvation Army’s major annual fundraiser since 1965 and funds raised are vital in assisting the Salvos maintain their high quality services in the local community.
The Salvation Army helps more than one million disadvantaged Australians each year and with the recent floods in our region the Salvos were on the ground immediately working to get people back on their feet. In times of natural disaster the Salvation Army not only provides the vital physical needs of shelter, food and clothing but also emotional and mental support to victims, emergency service workers and volunteers.
The Salvation Army relies on donations to provide community service programs from aged care, youth homelessness, counselling, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, employment services just to name a few. You can help change someone’s life by supporting these important programs.
With thanks
Hon Peter Dutton MP
Pine Rivers District Red Shield Appeal Chairman
