Kids Alive – Living with Water
Peter Dutton MP met with Laurie Lawrence recently at a function promoting Living with Water.
Laurie Lawrence has teamed up with the Australian Government to produce a comprehensive free water safety DVD for parents of children under five years of age.
“Sadly, since the year 2000, over three hundred children under five have drowned in Australia. I don’t want to see these devastating statistics climb any further,” said Laurie Lawrence.
The free DVD covers all aspects of water safety with an easy to view format broken down into developmental stages to outline specific water hazards as your child grows.
“Laurie has always been passionate about preventing children drowning and I applaud his efforts in once again investing in such a worthwhile project,” said Peter Dutton.
“As a father of three young children it is devastating to hear the stories of families who have lost a child through drowning. It sends a powerful message to us that we need to arm ourselves with knowledge on preventing drowning and saving lives.”
Mr Dutton has recently been providing parents of young children with a free copy of the DVD when they have visited his mobile office.
